Here is a snapshot taken on our 34th wedding anniversary on September 3 in St. Augustine, Florida. This year will be 35 years! Here is the question! What is the right number of banjos to celebrate 35 years together? 35 for 35?
Here's a cell phone pix of Karen, Jay, and Mary Z (Aden not pictured) Screech Malone played the old time dance last Friday and Mary Z. sat in on banjo. Lots of fun and good fiddle tunes!
With the holidays coming fast, it's not too early to order "Lo Gordon Society" gear for your Cedar Mountain banjo enthusiast!
Go to this site to order T-shirts, sweatshirts, caps, and more! I have the pink ladies shirt and the gray T too and they are high quality shirts with nice lotus flower design
Carroll sent me this photo that he snapped a couple weekends ago at Mary & Lo Gordon's home. Yes, that is my Cedar Mountain banjo that I am playing at the party. I also played it in the banjo contest and in the band contest.
Brian Hill sent me this old promo photo of a bluegrass band we were in over 35 years ago. Boy were we ever young then! By the way, that's my Gibson RB250 when it was new. I still play it today as a clawhammer banjo and it still sounds great.
Here is a pix of Chip Arnold and me--still friends--after the old time banjo contest finals. Joe Decosimo got first, I placed second, and Chip placed third. My blue ribbon is from the mountain dulcimer contest where I placed first. The contest was well attended and the competition extremely well represented. I heard the other four finalist play--and wouldn't you know it--not a single one was having a bad day. They all sounded like first place to me.
Boy is this ever a beauty and it sounds as good as it looks. Just a beautiful tone. I played it for both sets at the Barberville Festival this weekend--it was hard to put it down!
